The 2024 Medley Interlisp Project Annual Report is out with a summary of our work:

interlisp.org/project/status/2

The 2024 report aims in particular at people not familiar with the project or software. To achieve this the report tries to explain the rationale behind the work we did, introduces the major Medley subsystems, and links to further resources.

What do you think of the report? Would you like to contribute to the project? We look forward to your feedback.

I'm going to point out that a sizeable segment of the people who did not vote in this last election saw the leadership of both major parties as the two faces of a fascist Janus.

In many ways, they were not wrong.

And while we can eschew their decision to stay home, the blame for their staying home lies squarely on the shoulders of the less ugly face of Janus, whose actions and campaign were so terrible, that it discouraged major portions of their base from voting.

anybody making Nazi salutes in the name of the USA should not have the privilege of dying of old age, peacefully in their sleep. neither those who prop them up and got paid to make it happen.

Today we remember that the FBI, acting in its lawful and official capacity, tried to blackmail Martin Luther King, Jr. into committing suicide and we almost certainly would not know that for a fact if a bunch of hippies hadn’t literally burglarized an FBI office in 1971, an action which is definitely illegal.

When the tiktok ban happened, the weirdest thing also happened on Aussie tiktok.
There was no political spam. The bot accounts trying to divide us vanished. The fake posts making claims about our leaders stopped.
We all had assumed it was russians doing it, but given the timing, what are the odds bad actors in the USA are the guilty ones?

Not to be Barbie, but how are you guys coping with the growing sense of dread that the world will legitimately end in our lifetimes and everything you know and love will collapse into chaos
