5 years ago, WHO tweeted that China had no evidence of human transmission of #COVID19. I and many others knew that was wrong, just as we knew COVID was airborne, reinfections occurred, and Long COVID was a risk before WHO said so. It's easy for an informed observer to make fast calls compared to public health experts restrained by process. But if a bus is about to hit you, do you want someone who tells you rapidly or someone who pulls out their tape measure and calculator to confirm risk first?

"Don’t be loud, particularly in confined spaces. Don’t eat on public transport or on the street. Don’t smoke or drink in public places. Don’t litter. Don’t rove around in packs being obnoxious.
"The key to the harmony of Japanese society is the elevation of community above the individual. You may not want to live your whole life like that, but if you hope to be welcomed and respected in Japan, you have to abide by it while you’re there."

Before, when I thought it was an actual tax on investment earnings, 66% seemed fantastic. Now I'm wondering why it's not 100% and why the Liberals made the first quarter million exempt from the increase.
