Huh, since I've literally never been afforded the luxury of paying a capital gains tax and thanks to CBC's "like I'm a five-year-old" explanation, I realize I had some misconceptions about how it all works.

Before, when I thought it was an actual tax on investment earnings, 66% seemed fantastic. Now I'm wondering why it's not 100% and why the Liberals made the first quarter million exempt from the increase.

if I were a horrible person, I would be okay with the inventor of SEO being taken out behind the barn and shot

but as a nonviolent and chill person, I think they should just be banished to some remote island monastery to live in solitude until the end of their days, never being graced by human touch ever again, and having zero access to any of their rich fuckboy toys

Back in the old days, when the US government pursued an anti-trust case against the Microsoft Corporation, every single court document written by the prosecution.. was authored in MS Word. The figures were displayed in MS Excel spreadsheets. Interestingly, despite the fact that MS was found to be abusing its monopolies in many ways on a massive scale, MS was never penalised in any useful way, and nothing was ever done to break their monopolies. 1/n

I'm low key happy the corpos are dropping the facade and embracing fascist rule. Corporate "progressivism" was always a patronizing lie meant to milk cash out of minority populations, and I'm just thankful that they are revealing that truth

Corporations will never be progressive. They will embrace human extinction itself if it means the preservation of private ownership and the social relations underlying capital.

How safe are apartment doors that open by keycard?

Do they usually also have deadbolts or something physical that can be operated from the inside?
