keep switching to readonly on reboot. WTF
and btrfs check shows no error
how can I free up space in a read only filesystem?
@hub It's possible to add another device (temporarily), delete files, possibly rebalance, and then remove device (via btrfs). The other device can even be a USB stick.
I'm not saying this is good, just a solution for a very bad experience.

(This is the "temporary space expansion" method. I used it before.)
There's also a "resize" method which is possibly better:

I agree that it totally stinks and btrfs should never get to this state.
@garrett it is made read-only shortly after boot, NOTHING I CAN DO
and Fedora doesn't allow boot single user either, even then I'm not sure it would work
@hub @garrett sounds like booting from a USB stick to repair your filesystem might be your only option.
@gabrielesvelto @garrett yeah fortunately I seem to have one ready from last time. but its gonna be a PITA
@hub in the past two days my machine ate my UEFI boot configuration twice. I'm not sure why but I suspect it's Windows fault and I had to boot twice from a USB stick to fix it so I feel you.
@gabrielesvelto in my case it was just btrfs fucking up. Also I don't use Windows so I don't have that variable.
I figured out the magic incantation for now.
@gabrielesvelto @garrett apparently Ill have to rebuild the filesystem....
