And for whatever it's worth, Settler Colonialism is a far better explanation for indexing and understanding what is transpiring in the United States than "fascism".
None of this presents as a break from the American tradition. It's as old as John Winthrop, George Washington, Brigham Young and Bull Connor. Not being able to see that, or refusing to do so, betrays a rather tenuous and incurious grasp of just how the West was won.
